Urban League for Bergen County

Urban League for Bergen County, Inc. (“ULBC”) is a non-profit, non-partisan civil rights organization serving the diverse communities of Bergen County and its surrounding areas since 1918. A local affiliate of the National Urban League, ULBC is dedicated to empowering the economically disadvantaged residents of Bergen County to elevate the standards of living in historically underserved urban communities.

National Urban League

The mission of the Urban League movement is to enable African-Americans to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights. Founded in 1910 and headquartered in New York City, the National Urban League spearheads the efforts of its local affiliates through the development of programs, public policy research and advocacy. Today, the National Urban League has 95 affiliates serving 300 communities, in 35 states and the District of Columbia, providing direct services that impact and improve the lives of more than 2 million people nationwide. More→
